Space-time and religions too
Hossam Badrawi
I receive as many messages on WhatsApp every Friday, sometimes congratulating us and sometimes supplicating.. And when you have a large number of acquaintances and friends registered on your phone list, these messages become dozens and sometimes hundreds.. These messages were not written by the sender, rather they were transmitted. And it is sent as it came to it from others, that is, it is non-personal messages and does not require a response, but it requires stopping before the idea of sending a message that was not
You write it to someone who will not read it every Friday, as if its circumstances are repeated, so what is the significance and benefit of that?!
In my dialogues with young people, I discussed this issue with them, and we touched on a more important issue, which is the repetition of “share posts” without verifying their authenticity and authenticity, so we sometimes participate in spreading false news, and we may be unintentionally supporting a large misinformation network created by those who want to spread negative energy in society .
All I ask is to check before publishing any post to each of your phone lists without knowing its origin and chapter.. Science, intelligence and awareness say that.
We have to make sure of the reference of the posts, which sometimes not only publish false news, but also distort statements with intent, and falsely add pictures, to create integrated stories that are far from the truth with a goal.
A young dreamer said: I think that “posts” on Friday that are sent without thinking have become part of society’s behavior and evidence of its condemnation..Is there a spiritual value for Friday for Muslims, Saturday for Jews, and Sunday for Christians?..and what is the origin of the story?..and what is the relationship of religion to the days ?.
I said: I think it is a circumstantial organizational relationship, not divine. And she added: I finished reading the book “My Own Universe” by James Bailey, followed by the book “Physics of the Future” by Mikio Kaku, and the book “The Elegant Universe” by Brian Green, and a summary of Stephen Hawkins’ book “Short Answers.” Brief Answers to the Big Questions”, and I was confused about time and what we consider to be postulates on earth and it is relative to the universe, so I started researching the expansion and contraction of time and its relationship to the speed of light and gravity..all of which started as scientific theories proven by astronomical discoveries and mathematical equations..
And when I looked at the dozens of messages of friends and those I do not know with “posts” that they often do not read but rather resend to everyone on their phones, as I explained, about sanctifying supplication at a specific hour or a specific day because God responds to the supplicant more than at other times, I asked myself about The importance of today, what day, and why people think
The day is very relative for the inhabitants of the planet Earth from its north pole to the south and the most relative between the day of the earth originally and the day of Mars or Saturn, so what about the day of a planet in another galaxy ?!, and I wanted to share with you thinking outside what is local (in this case the local is the globe (To what is universal.
Another young woman said: Explain to us more..
I said: I invite you to think, leading to explanations worth contemplating.. If Einstein’s theory of relativity had proven the possibility of time changing and its relationship to space and speed, and that with an increase in speed to close to the speed of light, time shrinks and mass diminishes, and when the speed of light is reached, matter ceases and time stops, then I can That I understand things that were said and I am required to believe them out of faith and not out of reason.
Another young man said: What, Doctor? And what does this have to do with hundreds of congratulations on Friday on social media?!
I said: I see the relativity of time and I am thinking about some verses of the Qur’an, and the following verses stopped me:
“And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of what you reckon.”
“He will carry out the matter from the sky to the earth, then he will show his feet to me on a day, the measure of which will be in a thousand years without counting.”
“The angels and no soul ascend to a place in a day, the length of which is fifty thousand years.”
And God put him to death for a hundred years, then sent him to life.
And I added: My new book “An Invitation to Think”, which was published by the Egyptian Lebanese Publishing Company, discusses many similar topics, to increase knowledge and differentiate between what is human and what is divine.
Science is beautiful, and questioning is the origin of knowledge. As for those who wanted to consider that the mind took permission after the interpretation of the first two of what I am reading now after more than a thousand years, and that belief in believing what has no proof is the way to God.. I say to them that God gave us the mind to contemplate, think and strive with the knowledge that His book began with, and that What distinguishes us from the rest of creation is this awareness of God’s grace upon us.
The first young man said: We go back to the days of the week, what is their source?
I said: In many cultures, the names given to the days of the week were derived from the names of the classical planets in Hellenistic astronomy, which in turn were named after the contemporary deities of that time in the minds of humans, a system introduced by the Sumerians and later adopted by the Babylonians and adopted by the Roman Empire. During ancient times, the seven-day week was adopted in early Christianity based on the Hebrew calendar, and Saturday remained the seventh day, which is sacred to the Jews and Sunday to the Christians. The Babylonians called these days the names of the planets known to them, and they numbered five, and they devoted the sixth day to the moon and the seventh day to the sun.
Diana is the moon on Monday, Mars is on Tuesday, Mercury is on Wednesday, Jupiter is on Thursday, Venus is on Friday, Saturn is on Saturday, and Apollo is like the sun on Sunday.
Then came a second stage for the Arabs, in which they followed the rest of the peoples, and adopted the use of the seven-day week, and they did not count the weeks before it.
In the third stage, the days of the week were named by their known names today, namely: (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday).
