MINIA GOVERNOR RECEIVES DR. BADRAWI TO DISCUSS EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT IN THE GOVERNORATE

Minia Governor, Essam El-Bedawi, received Prof. Hossam Badrawi at his office in the governorate headquarters, to discuss education development in the governorate. Also, Dr. Gamal Abul-Magd, President of Minia University, and Ramadan Abdel Hamid, Deputy Minister to Education participated in the meeting. The meeting was held before the activities of Dr. Badrawi’s “The Teacher of the Future” educational conference, in which Dr. Badrawi spoke about the importance that the whole society adopts Egypt 2030 Vision in education, as education in Egypt should be in high quality and available to everyone, with no discrimination, education in Egypt should be in high quality and available to everyone, with no discrimination, the tools required to achieve the goals should be made available, relevant to the educational process, within an institutional system that should not be changed as a ruler or a minister is changed and is efficient, fair and flexible. “Education is the main gateway to Egypt’s development. Hence, clear goals must be set for education development and principals and teachers’ preparation, in a manner that matches the speed of international changes. Education should be within an efficient institutional system that contributes to building an integrated character and unleash the maximum potentials of a proud, enlightened, innovative citizen, proud of his/her country history, passionate to build its future and capable of dealing competitively with regional and international entities,” he added. Badrawi affirmed that there was no fear of changing the types of education and presence of international schools, as long as the state is strong enough to impose its identity at schools, even if they are international. Language, history and geography are the elements that make the identity. Non-compromisable parameters should be set at all schools, otherwise; welcome to innovation and everyone must adhere to the identity principles. In his turn, the Governor assured the importance of educational process and scientific excellence in producing a generation capable of taking the responsibility for the future, as well as the key role that teacher and school, along with the family, play in education. He emphasized the necessity to care about student and teacher, as education is the key to advancement. The Governor pointed out that Minia is a promising governorate by its excelled youngsters and youth who are Egypt stronghold and hope of tomorrow. The British School choir performed some shows in Arabic and English, as well as a special show about Dr. Hossam Badrawi. Minia teachers and students welcomed Dr. Badrawi in huge ovation, shared interactive discussions after the show about him and took commemorative photos.

DR. BADRAWI GIVES A LECTURE DURING “THE TEACHER OF THE FUTURE” EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE

On an invitation from the British School in Minia Governorate, Prof. Hossam Badrawi participated in the educational conference titled “The teacher of the Future”, in which Dr. Badrawi, physician, politician, Chairman of Nile Badrawi Foundation for Education & Development and Takatof Association and Head of Advisory Board of Education First Organization, gave a lecture, in the presence of Minia Governor, Major General Essam El-Bedawi. The conference was held at the governorate theatre and organized by the British School in Minia, in cooperation with the Education Directorate. The conference was attended by Dr. Gamal Abul-Magd, President of Minia University, Ramadan Abdel Hamid, deputy to the Education Ministry and many teachers and students. On an invitation from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Dr. Hossam Badrawi delivered a lecture on policies of developing higher education in Egypt to the faculty students. During his lecture, Dr. Badrawi pointed out the most obvious reasons that hinder developing education, especially higher education, in Egypt and its developing policies to match the future data. Dr. Badrawi was keen to engage the students in that interactive lecture. He listened to students’ opinions, answered their questions and discussed with them the best ideas for reforming higher education in Egypt.

DR. BADRAWI ATTENDS SIGNING A PROTOCOL FOR TRAINING TEACHERS BETWEEN “EDUCATION FIRST’ AND “THE PROFESSIONAL ACADEMY FOR TEACHERS”

In the presence of Dr. Hossam Badrawi, Head of the Advisory Board of ‘Education First’ foundation, Dr. Salma Al Bakri, Chairman of the foundation Board of Trustees, and Dr. Salah Ghoneim, Director of the Professional Academy for Teachers, signed a cooperation protocol that allows for sustainability of a training program for the leaders and teachers of 721 public language schools all over Egypt. The protocol was also signed by Dr. Mahmoud Hamza, the project CEO; he represents the spirit and heart of the project. This professional work is carried out by the foundation and its costs are borne by it within a public non-profit work.

It is worth mentioning that “Education First” is a civil society foundation that supports government education in Egypt. It trained about 13,600 teachers of science, mathematics and English at official language “experimental” schools, in cooperation with Vodafone Egypt Foundation for Community Development, Al-Alfi Foundation, International Associated Cargo Carrier ” IACC”, B-Tech for Trade and Distribution, Banque Misr, and Microsoft, as well as the academic partner of the Faculty of Education, Florida Atlantic University.

“Education First” is one of several educational institutions led by Dr. Badrawi, such as Takatof Association which builds a new school and delivers it to the state every 7 months, The Dreamers of Tomorrow Association which works with youth and on developing their abilities, Nile Badrawi Foundation for Education and Development which finances and supervises the non-profit activities of the family, the National Competitiveness Council that was founded by Dr. Hossam in 2004, and the Institution of Parliamentarians Against Corruption, founded by Dr. Badrawi in 2003.

DR. BADRAWI INAUGURATES THE EGYPTIAN FORUM FOR YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROMOTION (EGYPT – YEP)

Dr. Badrawi inaugurated the Egyptian Forum for Youth Employment Promotion (egypt – yep), entitled “Towards a National System for Career Guidance” organized by The Egyptian National Competitiveness Council with the participation of a wide range of civil society organizations and some of international experts in the area of education. During his speech, Dr. Badrawi talked about the importance of developing technical education, training the student on the skills of the 21st century, and the integration of technology in the process of technical education. He emphasized that there are basic elements in career guidance:

The individual should know himself (his preparations, capabilities, tendencies, sources of power, and limits).
To know the requirements and conditions of success for each career or group of careers, their advantages, disadvantages, opportunities and benefits.
Making a conscious decision based on suitability or matching the facts and information collected in the previous steps. In other words, this step involves real reflection or guidance to link personal information with professional information.

DR. BADRAWI CELEBRATES THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY ON THE ESTABLISHING OF “THE DREAMERS OF TOMORROW” ASSOCIATION

In a beautiful meeting on the 20th anniversary on the establishing of “The Dreamers of Tomorrow” Association, Dr. Badrawi met with a group of Egyptian youth who represent youth members of parliament and civil society with its associations, parties and companies to interactive on the role of youth in positively building Egypt’s future, with emphasizing on prioritizing youth on:

National belonging to Egypt and its modern civil identity
Education, starting from nursery and continuous learning
Enhancing social, religious, and cultural positive values
Creating employment opportunities and developing skills

DR. BADRAWI DELIVERS A SPEECH TO 400 TEACHERS AT A TRAINING PROJECT

In an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and excitement, Dr. Badrawi gave a public lecture to more than 400 teachers from different governorates, within the framework of Education First project. The project aims to raise teachers and principals’ capacities. The lecture was titled “Teacher of the Future.” Dr. Badrawi talked about the characteristics that should be available in the teacher of the future who plays a more significant role in forming students’ affaction and building their characters; it is not just a conveyor of information. Education First project is adopted and managed by New Generation Schools and is led by Dr. Salma Albakri and Dr. Mahmoud Hamza. It has completed training of 11,000+ teachers and principals, under the patronage of Ministry of Education and in partnership with a large number of civil society organizations. The teachers were keen to welcome Dr. Badrawi upon his entrance to the hall, to take commemorative photos and exchange dialogue with him.

IN AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN CAIRO, DR. BADRAWI GIVES A SPEECH ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF HUMAN RIGHTS

In an important conference of National Council for Human Rights (NCHR), Dr. Hossam Badrawi gave the key speech in the session assigned to the role of educational institutions in combating the challenge of violence, terrorism and hate speech in modern societies. The session continued for 2.5 hours, presided by Mr. Mohamed Fayek, NCHR President, Dr. Mofid Shehab, Former Minister and Mr. Mohsen Awad, NCHR member.

Dr. Badrawi’s paper focused on changing the form of education by providing knowledge and transforming educational institutions into an ambience that expands to accommodate children and youth for consecutive 18 years. Youth affection is influenced by what they experience, not a curriculum taught or a speech given to them.

Dr. Badrawi expressed the importance of combining education, culture, media and youth files together within the vision of building man with frequent accumulative messages, concerning renouncing violence, respecting pluralism, accepting differences and respecting citizenship and rights.

He also stated that integrating the concept of rejecting hate speech and renouncing violence in educational institutions lifecycle would not come by itself, but through agreed policies and in the framework of the 21^st century skills which became one of the goals of being in an educational institution.

Dr. Badrawi discussed the learning methods that would appear in the upcoming years including using new technology approaches, artificial intelligence, and intelligence genes intervention and modification. “If such does not go along with integration of the concept of love, renouncing hate and respecting rights, we may succeed in developing education and also creating scholars and innovators but in terrorism, making the challenge greater and larger. This must be the concern of humankind by identifying the human value groups that we would like to instill in the affection of our children. As we should not leave it to chance or to pure profitable economic objectives of what technology offers to education or what art offers to entertainment.

DR BADRAWI GIVES THE OPENING SPEECH IN AN INTERNATIONAL CONERENCE IN SOUTH AFRICA

In Cape Town, South Africa, amidst a gathering of scientists and politicians, Dr. Hossam Badrawi gave the opening speech in a conference entitled “Integrity between Scientists and Politicians in Africa”. The conference discussed Brussels Declaration, issued in Feb. 2017, on linking science to politicians and moving towards “Evidence Based Policy Making.” It means that politics should have rules of evidence and be thought out for the benefit of communities. Dr. Badrawi discussed the general situation of Africa in terms of absence of balance among the ruling authorities and how the executive authorities control making politics and the resulting exclusion of scientists and civic society from true participation. Dr. Badrawi also discussed how it was important for countries to have research and development orientations based on the future needs, to which the countries direct their budgets for research and development. Whether we want it or not, researches and scientists aim to achieve the targets of scientific research financiers.
