At the invitation of Dr. Basil Adel, head of the Awareness Party, and under the title “Egypt’s Political Future”, Dr. Hossam Badrawi gave a political lecture on the coming political future yesterday, Monday, December 23, 2024, at the headquarters of the Awareness Party in the Fifth Settlement. Dr. Basil Aad welcomed Dr. Badrawi and praised his honorable political career and national positions that history will remember. Dr. Basil Adel, head of the party, confirmed that although the party is 21 days old, meaning about 3 weeks ago, many activities have been implemented, issues have been engaged in, and research papers have been presented on pressing issues. Adel announced during the meeting that the party is preparing for the inauguration celebration next January at Abdeen Palace in the presence of dignitaries, noting that they launched a door-to-door campaign and visited Alexandria and Port Said, and will head to Fayoum Governorate on Friday for a popular meeting. Dr. Basil Adel added that they launched the membership form and welcome the joining of youth and women to build a different political experience under the name of social liberal parties, seeking to have a number of figures and parties join to gain the respect of the state and the support of a broad base of the masses. Dr. Badrawi’s speech came as follows: –
At the beginning of his speech, Dr. Badrawi thanked Dr. Basil Adel and the Awareness Party for hosting him, then praised Dr. Basil Adel’s political efforts.
Dr. Badrawi then referred to the 21 days that have passed since the establishment of the Awareness Party, likening this period in embryology to the same period it takes for the heart and genes of the fetus to be completed.
Dr. Badrawi then stressed that the party that is formed must proceed on two sides, one of which is an academic side, which is the easy side, and the other is a public side, which is the difficult part, since communicating with the public requires crossing many barriers, in addition to the fact that the electoral system does not allow for obtaining the full opportunity that benefits the party, due to the difficulty of reaching those who will give you their votes, in addition to the large size of the constituencies.
He then added that what is happening around us in the region poses a great danger that cannot be ignored, and he pointed out that Egypt is the grand prize after all of that, then he asked, can Egypt ward off this danger? He answered, yes, definitely, but this requires us to be strong from within first, and a strong state from within is not a security state, but a civil state that allows the participation of civil society and allows the emergence of political leaders. We know that democracy may not bring the best elements as a result of ignorance and poverty that gives money power, but the wise constitutional system has set controls for this within the framework of the public’s expression and participation at the local level when applying decentralization and at the level of the two chambers of parliament when the Senate has the function of sustaining development and controlling performance with a different composition from the other chamber, as each chamber has a function and a role, but unfortunately in the last elections they are two sides of the same role. He stressed the illogicality of political work if society is ignored and not involved under the pretext that it is an ignorant society that will not be able to choose. This matter is controlled by opening decentralized channels that allow people to express themselves and their desires, then from these channels to the House of Representatives, which formulates it, crystallizes it, and places it in a legislative mold, and from there to the Senate, which controls its political framework, stressing that institutional work is what controls political life. Dr. Badrawi then moved to another aspect that achieves Egypt’s internal strength, which is the issue of separation of powers, expressing that if the executive authority continues to dominate the rest of the authorities, we will remain without a democratic system of government, expressing that despite his belief in the availability of good intentions, the absolute system of government ultimately leads to corruption, as no system will be upright without accountability. We do not want chaos, revolutions, or coups, but what we want is reform from within. Dr. Badrawi added that since 1952, Egypt has been governed by a presidential system of government, and presidential rule can also be democratic, but presidential rule without the transfer of power turns over time into dictatorial rule…. This is what the constitution stipulates.

Dr. Badrawi then explained that we all belong to the liberal social movement, as we all believe in freedom of economic movement, but we also have strict rules regarding citizens’ rights, most notably education, health, housing, and social security.

What makes us influential is finding the minimum level of consensus that achieves solidarity and cohesion among us as parties.

In conclusion, Dr. Badrawi urged the need to start implementing decentralization, which will take time to stabilize, the need for separation of powers, and the need for us all to cooperate in the next stage in order to form a bloc that will produce no less than 150 opposition votes in the next House of Representatives, as he believes that it is in the interest of any ruling regime to have constructive opposition within the regime.
Dr. Badrawi ended his speech amidst applause and support from the attendees, then the door was opened for dialogue to the attendees who asked many questions on all political files, which Dr. Badrawi welcomed and answered, and the organization remained honorable on the part of the organizers of the Awareness Party. The symposium, which was attended by a number of political leaders, former representatives, and party bases from various currents, ended. The symposium was attended by former representative Rajab Hamida, former representative Dr. Magdy Morshed, Vice President of the Conference Party, former representative John Talat, former representative Margaret Azar, members of the founding committee of the Awareness Party, Dr. Muhammad Abu Jabal Abu, Head of Arab Affairs at the Iraqi Embassy, Mr. Hussein Hadi, Representative of the Iraqi Embassy, and a number of party and youth leaders from various political currents and leaders of the Awareness Party. Awareness Party statement on yesterday’s meeting

At the invitation of Dr. Mounir Hanna and the Christian-Islamic Center for Understanding and Partnership in cooperation with the Bridges Cultural Center, Dr. Hossam Badrawi gave an interesting lecture today, Friday, December 13, 2024, at the All Saints Cathedral in Zamalek, entitled “Egypt in My Mind.” The lecture was attended by a group of educated youth and prominent figures in society. Dr. Badrawi began his lecture with an interesting presentation of the cycles of development since the beginning of the universe and the time it took, and from there to the civilizational development since man became capable of imagination. This imagination, which Dr. Badrawi considers to be the beginning of human development, and how the cycle of civilization that used to take thousands of years has now become less than three years, stressing the need to realize the amazing speed that takes us towards the future. Then, Dr. Badrawi asked the attendees about how they see Egypt and listened to their answers attentively. Then, Dr. Badrawi stated that Egypt in the past was considered by some to represent soft power from artists, writers, and intellectuals, and some see it from the perspective of greatness from the pharaohs in different eras, the pyramids, and history. Some will say without thinking, the mother of the world, because it is a beacon of knowledge that illuminated the entire world. Everyone sees it from different angles, an image that calls for pride that we belong to this country. Today, Egypt is in people’s minds negative, weak, helpless, and hopeless, and everyone wants to change it to be in the position it deserves. Then, from Egypt of the past and the present, Dr. Badrawi moved to Egypt of the future, stressing that Egypt’s future is in our hands, and Egypt can be a great country with merit. Egypt’s future will be affected by the future of the world. Will our choice be to participate in making this future, or will we be mere spectators? Then, Dr. Badrawi answered that those who do not have dreams and imagination will not be able to make the future, explaining that dreams have no limits and differ from feasibility studies. We should not listen to those who say, “Dream within the limits of what can be achieved.” Rather, dream as you wish without restrictions, as dreams are the first step to change. Then, Dr. Badrawi expressed that Egypt has many riches that only need efficiency in management, and the most important of these riches are Egypt’s youth. Egypt has 60% youth, and this is Egypt’s greatest wealth. If these youth are well prepared, they will… They can revive Egypt and create a new future that suits it. What we need today is greater efficiency in managing the state, efficiency that should not be compromised, choosing the best, periodically renewing blood, respecting science and scientists, and raising the ceiling of dreams. We need boldness in thinking, sustainability in application, setting priorities and announcing them, and accountability for spending, as Egypt is a great country and deserves it. Dr. Badrawi concluded his lecture, which was more than wonderful, with applause and approval from all the attendees who came to him to sign his book, Egypt in My Mind, and exchange memorial photos with him after the end of the discussion session in which they discussed all aspects of the current situation in Egypt, which Dr. Badrawi listened to and answered all of them. Dr. Badrawi was accompanied on the platform by Dr. Mounir Hanna, who gave Dr. Badrawi an interesting and distinctive presentation, and Counselor Adly Hussein, former Governor of Qalyubia, who entertained us with his interventions and narration of the situations he faced during his work as governor.

‎In the presence of Dr. Hossam Badrawi, the Supreme Authority for Justice discusses the party’s plan for the upcoming elections.

The Justice Party held its first meeting of the Supreme Authority after the by-elections, in the presence of Dr. Hossam Badrawi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, MP Abdel Moneim Emam, Chairman of the party, MP Ahmed El-Qanawy, Secretary-General of the party, and MP Zainab El-Salaimi, Assistant Chairman of the party.

The meeting was also attended by 70 party leaders, members of the Supreme Authority and the Political Bureau.

MP Ahmed El-Qanawy opened the meeting by announcing the results of the recent by-elections and the names of the winning members of the Supreme Authority.

MP Abdel Moneim Emam confirmed that the party will provide all the necessary support and effort to the candidates in the upcoming elections, which will contribute to achieving the best results.

Emam also discussed the current political situation and his expectations regarding the upcoming electoral system, and the party’s current consultations with a number of democratic parties to announce an electoral alliance during the coming period.
Dr. Hossam Badrawi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, pointed out the importance of strengthening the role of the Justice Party in the political arena, as the party is not a loyal party, but an opposition party that builds and does not destroy, and represents an ideology, which is social liberalism.

He said: The upcoming elections and the relentless pursuit of participating in them for the largest number of seats is important for the party to prove that it is an important number in the electoral and political equation, so that Justice embodies that it has become a party that is taken into account internally and externally, and to achieve this we need intensive work to have 600 candidates to choose the most qualified among them to run for the party’s nominations, whether individually or on lists.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party stressed the need to move from describing crises to working to solve them, noting that the Justice Party must have an institutional vision capable of achieving sustainability, and that the current strategic goal of the party must be how to reach the best elements close to and convinced of the party’s ideology and able to represent it before the people.

Badrawi continued: “This is a battle that requires organization and funding, as there are individuals who can finance their campaigns themselves, and others who need the party’s financial support.

For his part, MP Ahmed El-Qanawy explained, in response to the directives of Dr. Hossam Badrawi, Chairman of the Party’s Board of Trustees, that the party is currently focusing on organizing events with a deep impact, explaining: “We are implementing between 8 and 12 monthly events in influential fields, and we are currently working on preparing a major event in cooperation between the Central Secretariat in Cairo and the Hurghada Secretariat on tourism, in addition to four events in the field of development in Upper Egypt, including in Assiut and Aswan. We are also planning to hold an alternative policies conference under the title ‘Economic Alternatives’, in addition to a special conference on the status and future of education in Egypt.” Some members asked Dr. Hossam to lead the formation of a Board of Trustees for the alliance that ensures following the path of social liberalism and includes figures who respect that

At the invitation of Professor Suhair Al-Sakri, President of the Cairo Lottery Club, Dr. Hossam Badrawi participated today, Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Pasha Complex, in a wonderful symposium about his book “Egypt in My Mind” as the main speaker. During his speech, Dr. Badrawi expressed the different views of people towards Egypt. Some are optimistic who see hope, and some are pessimistic who see the negatives and magnify them and kill hope. Some are not interested, see what is happening and do not care. When we ask how people see Egypt, we find differences. Some see it as great and full of scientists, artists, beauty and history, and some see it from different religious or political angles, but they agree on its greatness and love and that it is the cradle of civilizations and the mother of the world. Some see only the present Egypt and see it full of corruption and negatives. He stressed that this is what worries him, as the majority of young people want to travel in search of a better life, expressing that the goal of the fourth and fifth generation wars is to kill hope in the eyes of young people so that they see everything dark around them, and social media has a role. It is a big deal if it is misused and we share its negatives without awareness, and the role of governments is to transform this negative energy into positive energy through educational institutions and national dialogue platforms, as the function of politics is to make the masses happy. Then Dr. Badrawi moved to the future of Egypt, stressing that the cycle of civilization has become incredibly accelerating and the future is changing and its features are being redrawn every moment. Will we be participants in making this future or will we just be recipients? Then Dr. Badrawi talked about the influential difference that artificial intelligence has made in the data we live today and what could happen in the future as a result of this amazing progress, as many jobs will disappear and life will not be as we know it now. Then he added that we can certainly be an important part of making the future if we make the best use of our resources, stressing that the technological revolution has put us all on the same starting line so that we will not need to return to the past to change it so that we can catch up with the future. Here, we must reconsider developing our educational system to keep pace with these changes and move away from stereotypes in education and urge students to use their minds, think, doubt and research, with the necessity of establishing a set of values Agreed upon in their conscience to become useful to themselves and their country, the main goal of education is to build an integrated, flexible personality that makes the future, and finally Dr. Badrawi concluded his speech by saying that the Egypt in his mind is the great Egypt that builds on its past to make its future, to be filled with optimism and positivity, the Egypt in his mind is full of tolerance and acceptance of the different and difference, stressing that the Egypt in his mind is the Egypt in the mind of every loving Egyptian…. Then Dr. Badrawi concluded his speech amidst loud applause from the attendees who approached Dr. Badrawi after the discussion session that followed his speech to take memorial photos with him and have him sign his book. The symposium was more than wonderful, interspersed with beautiful singing segments and wonderful musical performances. Counselor Adel Abdel Baqi, Minister of Local Development and former Minister of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Sohair El-Sokary, Dr. Ahmed Mustafa Shawky, Chairman of Mazars Accounting Consulting Company, and Mr. Mohamed Hassouna, Honorary Secretary of the Rotary Club, attended the meeting. Many prominent figures in society attended the meeting, including Intellectuals, public figures and politicians, members of the Lottery Club
