Dr. Hossam Badrawi Honored as Guest of Honor at “Nourak,” a Social and Scientific Event Celebrating Women

At the halls of Giza Palace, Dr. Hossam Badrawi delivered an inspiring message to Egyptian women at the “Nourak” event.

On the evening of Friday, October 9, 2026, the halls of Giza Palace were filled with exceptional energy, warmth, and appreciation for every Egyptian woman. An outstanding gathering of women came together for a special day dedicated to women at every stage of life, from childhood to motherhood and the hopeful years beyond fifty. The event was the result of an ongoing collaboration and partnership between Parkville and Al Nada Hospital, under the leadership of Dr. Omar Abdel Aziz.

The day began with a lively atmosphere ahead of the official proceedings. Representatives of Parkville delivered the opening and welcoming remarks, followed by Professor Dr. Omar Abdel Aziz, Chairman of the Board of Al Nada Hospital, who helped set the stage for a day designed specifically to offer every woman moments of care, attention, and appreciation.

All eyes then turned to the stage as Professor Dr. Hossam Badrawi stepped forward to deliver a speech filled with profound messages of love and appreciation for women.

With his distinctive storytelling style and ability to touch hearts, Dr. Badrawi went beyond conventional medical discourse, taking the audience on a journey that combined science and humanity. He began by highlighting a fascinating biological fact suggesting that the female represents the original source of human life, explaining how mitochondria—the energy-producing structures within the body’s cells—are inherited exclusively from the mother. It was as though he were reminding every woman that she is a source of energy for the universe.

With a tone full of sincerity and gratitude, Dr. Badrawi revisited excerpts from an article he had previously published, reflecting on ten women who had influenced his life, shaped his character, and helped define his personal and professional journey.

His words overflowed with love as he described his mother as a source of beautiful music and a safe haven. He spoke with pride about his daughter, Dalia, who overcame the challenges of diabetes to become an athletic champion and an inspiring role model at Harvard University. He also paid tribute to his wife, his lifelong companion and the secret behind his family’s strength and unity; his sister, Dr. Nadia, whom he described as a pioneering pediatrician; and his wise grandmother, whose profound saying, “Much Is Less,” inspired an article he wrote for Al-Masry Al-Youm. He concluded this personal journey by speaking about his granddaughter, whom he sees as a flower of life.

His reflections culminated in a tribute to Egyptian women throughout history, who have consistently led, persevered, and taken center stage during the most challenging times.

Dr. Badrawi’s words offered a powerful dose of inspiration and positive energy. He redefined the meaning of strength, emphasizing that women possess capabilities equal to those of men while bearing a greater share of the responsibility for the continuation of humanity.

Following this inspiring and deeply moving experience, the event continued with activities addressing every aspect of women’s lives. These included discussion sessions with leading physicians exploring “Her Story: From Birth to the Age of Wisdom,” important awareness sessions on the significance of early breast cancer screening under the theme “Pink It Up!”, and sessions on beauty and radiance led by dermatology and cosmetic medicine experts.

The day concluded with prize draws and surprises that brought joy to the attendees, followed by a warm dinner that brought everyone together in moments of sharing, connection, and happiness.

At Giza Palace, “Nourak” was far more than a medical conference. It was a genuine celebration of every woman. And Dr. Hossam Badrawi was the voice that translated this celebration into a message destined to remain alight in the hearts of everyone who attended.

Dr. Hossam Badrawi

He is a politician, intellect, and prominent physician. He is the former head of the Gynecology Department, Faculty of Medicine Cairo University. He conducted his post graduate studies from 1979 till 1981 in the United States. He was elected as a member of the Egyptian Parliament and chairman of the Education and Scientific Research Committee in the Parliament from 2000 till 2005. As a politician, Dr. Hossam Badrawi was known for his independent stances. His integrity won the consensus of all people from various political trends. During the era of former president Hosni Mubarak he was called The Rationalist in the National Democratic Party NDP because his political calls and demands were consistent to a great extent with calls for political and democratic reform in Egypt. He was against extending the state of emergency and objected to the National Democratic Party's unilateral constitutional amendments during the January 25, 2011 revolution. He played a very important political role when he defended, from the very first beginning of the revolution, the demonstrators' right to call for their demands. He called on the government to listen and respond to their demands. Consequently and due to Dr. Badrawi's popularity, Mubarak appointed him as the NDP Secretary General thus replacing the members of the Bureau of the Commission. During that time, Dr. Badrawi expressed his political opinion to Mubarak that he had to step down. He had to resign from the party after 5 days of his appointment on February 10 when he declared his political disagreement with the political leadership in dealing with the demonstrators who called for handing the power to the Muslim Brotherhood. Therefore, from the very first moment his stance was clear by rejecting a religion-based state which he considered as aiming to limit the Egyptians down to one trend. He considered deposed president Mohamed Morsi's decision to bring back the People's Assembly as a reinforcement of the US-supported dictatorship. He was among the first to denounce the incursion of Morsi's authority over the judicial authority, condemning the Brotherhood militias' blockade of the Supreme Constitutional Court. Dr. Hossam supported the Tamarod movement in its beginning and he declared that toppling the Brotherhood was a must and a pressing risk that had to be taken few months prior to the June 30 revolution and confirmed that the army would support the legitimacy given by the people
