“Ramadan as it should be”

The holy month of Ramadan has begun, and I wondered: Why don’t many Muslims work in Ramadan, they are lazy under the pretext of fasting, they go to work late and leave early, argue about the crowds, and rush over food and sweets, and what does fasting have to do with all that?!!!

A young dreamer asked me: Do you not see with me, doctor, that fasting has become an excuse for not performing the duty?

I said: I agree with you.

He said: If fasting will hinder an employee from performing his work in the service of citizens, is it not correct for him to break the fast and make it easier for people to fulfill their needs?

I said: I agree with you.

He said: What are these nonsense about strange questions and stupid answers, such as does entering water into the anus break when rinsing? Is this not in vain dwarfing religion and distorting fatwas?

I said: I agree with you, and I marvel at the insignificance of the questioner and the official if he answered.

An educated girl and a reader said: I have read the verses of fasting, and I wonder who was prescribed fasting before Islam? Were the Arabs on the island fasting in the same month?

I said: As far as I know, even the ancient Egyptians used to fast, and yes, the Arabs before Islam used to fast and perform pilgrimage to the Kaaba.

Sanctifying the month of Ramadan is not only an Islamic custom, because the Arabs used to sanctify it in ancient times, and Abd al-Muttalib, the grandfather of our master Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to sanctify and glorify this month.

Also, the Sabeans, according to the sources of Arab history, used to fast for thirty days, beginning the month with the appearance of the crescent, and ending it with the appearance of the new crescent moon, and they used to celebrate a holiday after the end of the month also called Eid al-Fitr, and in this matter a lot of conformity with Islamic fasting.

The Jews also fasted several days of the year, as fasting was for them an expression of sadness, and most of the days they fast were considered mourning, and they fasted as an expiation for sins, as well as they believed that fasting protects them from the occurrence of calamities, and the Christians also have days They are specific and scattered throughout the year, which they are keen to fast, as is the case with the ancient Egyptians who used to fast and set specific days for fasting.

The young woman said: And who are the Sabeans, I have not heard of them before?

I said: you do not you focus on reading, it has been mentioned Sabean and independently in the Koran and in the verses of the following: «Sura»: (Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians and Alsabian from believing in God and the other day and good work, have their reward with their Lord, and no fear, nor shall they they grieve). And in Surat Al-Ma’idah it is stated: (Indeed, those who believed, and those who were Jews, and the Sabians, and the Christians, those who believed in God and the Last Day and did righteous deeds).

As for who they are, they are a group of believers in God who claim that they are on the religion of Abraham and Adam and have customs close to Islam, and they still exist until now.

The important thing is that fasting existed in different forms before the advent of Islam, and God says in his book in “Surat Al-Baqarah”: (O you who have believed, fasting is prescribed for you as it was written for those who were predetermined for you).

The first young man said: I am afraid to say, Doctor, that completing the verses of fasting according to my understanding gives a person the right to break the fast if he wants, provided that he feeds a poor person. As the verse says: )oyama it was a few of you are sick or on a journey interpretation of the meaning and who Aticonh ransom food, it is a poor volunteer reward is better for him and fast on the best for you if you Talmon(.

I said: I am also puzzled interpretation (and for those who Aticonh ransom, poor food, it volunteered to reward it is better for him and fast on good for you if you know), because clearly verse rights are given the right to choose and catalyzed that is good for him to fast, however, I promise you to search and question in deeper.

Here, the whole group asked me what I could advise them on during Ramadan.

I thought about what I read about philosophy, physics, mysticism, and comparative religion. Then I thought about controversial issues about the astronomical date of Ramadan and the adjustment of the lunar months every three years with a month without a name until the spring months come in spring, Ramadan in September and October, and the Hajj in December and January, as imposed by the cycle of the earth, the sun, the stars, and the movement of the universe from what the first Arabs used to do and at the beginning of the calendar Hijri.

Then I said to myself, No, this is not a time for polemical discussions, nor for shaking habits that have settled in minds. It is better to advise them from the Qur’an about some life rulings, as we do in education, when we talk about values and skills to be applied.

So I went back to my research and told them: Ramadan is an opportunity for all of us, for it is a month in which souls are prepared to draw closer to God. Let us take from the Qur’an its advice for us in practicing life, and make this month the beginning of a project for a better human being for each of us.

They said: How and what do you mean?

The Qur’an advised us to be moderate in life, and said: “Do not let your hand be tied to your neck, and do not extend it all the way, lest you sit and relax.”

The Noble Qur’an has fixed for us the way we speak and speak out loudly, so he said: “Speak to them in an easy way.” He said: “Intent to walk and lower your voice, for the most disgusting sounds are the voice of donkeys.”

Rather, the Noble Qur’an has specified for us the way of this walking, whether figuratively or figuratively, saying: “Do not walk on the earth rejoicing, for you will not pierce the ground, nor will you reach the hills.”

The Koran advised not to consider insulting the others, he said: «not urbanism eyes to what classes of pairs of them flower life of the world for which Naftnhm and sustenance of your Lord is better and kept».

Likewise, God said in Qur’an:

It is in control of our thoughts and our hearing: “O you who believe, avoid a lot of suspicion, for some suspicions are sinful.”

And in Ramadan, we remember the words of God Almighty: “Eat and drink and be not extravagant, for He does not like the wasteful.”

Koran also said that we Mzkrna not right to lie: «woe to those who write the book with their hands and then say this from God to buy him a little expensive, woe to them than their hands written and woe to them than they earn».

And the Qur’an reminds us to say the best words to others: “Speak to the people well.”

The Koran teaches us to adjust our councils together or in our dealings Alsocheal Media, which came after more than a thousand years, saying: «not backbite one another does you eat the flesh of his dead brother Vltamoh and fear Allah, Allah is Oft Rahim».

And he commanded us to speak the truth: “O you who believe, fear God and be with the truthful.”

And my educated friend added, as she listened to my conversation with the youth: May I add to what I mentioned the adoption of what was mentioned in the Holy Qur’an of honoring one’s parents, and God has made that a companion to the oneness of God: “Worship none but God, and by parents, benevolence and kindness to me.”

So I added, saying that fasting Ramadan is an opportunity for jihad of the soul, which is higher in value and greater than any other jihad, if you knew.

It is simple guys, it is a set of values and actions that if we implemented and adhered to them, we would be a good society, and Ramadan may be a month in which we will mobilize to start a new era in which we say easy words, and we are committed to honesty, and we do not walk the earth arrogantly by ourselves and lower our voices and respect the freedom of others We do not spy or backbite each other, and we are certain of what we say and do, and we give charity with love, and we do not overeat in a month in which we are supposed to abstain from desires, and we say good to others and think good in people, so they raise the level of our belief in them, and we lower our gaze, and protect our people by doing good always.

These are my advice to you from the entrance of the Noble Qur’an and the words of God Almighty. Let us take the initiative in Ramadan to start or complete our good morals.
