\nHe is fertile in his knowledge, bold in his criticism, persistent in his struggle, and creative in his art. He is Professor Dr. Hossam Badrawy. In addition to all of that, he holds a doctorate from three universities: the first from Cairo University and the second and third from two American universities. He is a lecturer at international universities, and his title in the ruling party before 2011 was \u201cIslahi.\u201d
\nVice President, Major General Omar Suleiman, advised him to meet President Hosni Mubarak at his residence. He met him after hesitation. At the beginning of the meeting that took place during the revolution of January 25, 2011, President Mubarak asked him: What do you see? Dr. Badrawi replied: I see Ceausescu in front of me. President Mubarak responded: \u201cI mean, will they kill me?\u201d Dr. Badrawi\u2019s reaction was one word: Yes. Mubarak said: I am ready to die for my country.
\nDr. answered. Hossam: Why should you die? Live for your country and support the fulfillment of the youth\u2019s hopes for pride and dignity through a legitimate and constitutional transition to a new future by stepping down from power in a public speech and holding early presidential elections.. From here, many waters flowed that ended with the one who delivered the resignation speech being the Vice President, Major General Omar Soliman. After that, President Mubarak traveled alone to Sharm El-Sheikh.
\nAs for Dr. Badrawi, he continued his struggle after things stabilized. Hence, Dr. Badrawi was right to title one of his three books dedicated to me, \u201cThe Egypt on My Mind.\u201d As for the second book, it is entitled \u201cDare to Think,\u201d and the title is chosen after the phrase of the German Enlightenment philosopher Immanuel Kant.
\nHe wrote an article about him in Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper on 2\/21\/2024 under the title \u201cThe audacity to think and freedom to choose.\u201d After that, the third book remains, and its title is the title of the fifth story in a collection of short stories, which is \u201cThe Chimera,\u201d which is the result of the fusion of two zygotes to form an embryo. One.
\nIt is worth noting here that Dr. Badrawi is writing short stories for the first time. However, he did not write them until he wondered how to write a short story, and after that he completed and published these stories. The significance of all of Dr. Badrawi\u2019s works is that he bases their writing on the courage to exercise reason, similar to Kant\u2019s boldness. The point also is that this boldness is the right of every human being, and without it it will not be possible to change reality. Each of us, then, is Kant without distinction between East and West.
\nWe all have the right to celebrate this philosopher as Dr. Badrawi celebrated him, and as the world celebrates him today on the occasion of the three hundredth anniversary of his birth, as this celebration incites us to action based on the application of reason.<\/p>\n

During that time, Dr. Badrawi expressed his political opinion to Mubarak that he had to step down. He had to resign from the party after 5 days of his appointment on February 10 when he declared his political disagreement with the political leadership in dealing with the demonstrators who called for handing the power to the Muslim Brotherhood. Therefore, from the very first moment his stance was clear by rejecting a religion-based state which he considered as aiming to limit the Egyptians down to one trend. He considered deposed president Mohamed Morsi's decision to bring back the People's Assembly as a reinforcement of the US-supported dictatorship. He was among the first to denounce the incursion of Morsi's authority over the judicial authority, condemning the Brotherhood militias' blockade of the Supreme Constitutional Court.
