And is the labor market we know today the same one awaiting our children ten years from now?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7692\" data-end=\"7969\">The labor market is not fixed; it is volatile and constantly reshaped by new technologies, shifting economies, and changing societal priorities.<br data-start=\"7836\" data-end=\"7839\" \/>So how can we tie a long-term educational system\u2026 to a short-lived labor market that changes every five years, or even every year?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7971\" data-end=\"8341\">If education follows the market, it will always lag behind.<br data-start=\"8030\" data-end=\"8033\" \/>The traditional \u201ceducation\u2013labor market link\u201d assumes a clear, stable market that can be drawn on a board, then curricula adjusted to serve it.<br data-start=\"8176\" data-end=\"8179\" \/>But in reality, education is slower than economic change.<br data-start=\"8236\" data-end=\"8239\" \/>By linking education to today\u2019s market, we are \u2014 without realizing \u2014 linking it to yesterday\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8343\" data-end=\"8614\">Even more dangerous is making the goal of education merely \u201cmeeting market needs,\u201d reducing schools and universities to factories producing ready-made skills, while modern markets require creative minds capable of creating new jobs, not merely fitting into existing ones.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8616\" data-end=\"8769\">The new goal is to link education to <strong data-start=\"8653\" data-end=\"8666\">knowledge<\/strong>\u2026 and to <strong data-start=\"8675\" data-end=\"8710\">skills of adaptation and change<\/strong>, instead of chasing a market whose form we cannot predict.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8771\" data-end=\"8824\">We must link education to two more solid foundations:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8826\" data-end=\"9103\"><strong data-start=\"8826\" data-end=\"8874\">First: Knowledge that <em data-start=\"8850\" data-end=\"8860\">reshapes<\/em> the market.<\/strong><br data-start=\"8874\" data-end=\"8877\" \/>Scientific, technological, and cultural knowledge is not a reaction to the labor market \u2014 it is what reshapes it.<br data-start=\"8990\" data-end=\"8993\" \/>Those who possess knowledge can innovate industries, redirect economic paths, and create entirely new markets.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"9105\" data-end=\"9259\"><strong data-start=\"9105\" data-end=\"9171\">Second: Skills that enable youth to keep pace with the future:<\/strong><br data-start=\"9171\" data-end=\"9174\" \/>The coming labor market will not be stable, but certain skills will remain essential:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"9261\" data-end=\"9488\">\u2022 Critical and analytical thinking<br data-start=\"9295\" data-end=\"9298\" \/>\u2022 Solving complex problems<br data-start=\"9324\" data-end=\"9327\" \/>\u2022 Adaptability and continuous self-learning<br data-start=\"9370\" data-end=\"9373\" \/>\u2022 Innovation and entrepreneurship<br data-start=\"9406\" data-end=\"9409\" \/>\u2022 Deep digital and technological skills<br data-start=\"9448\" data-end=\"9451\" \/>\u2022 Social and emotional intelligence<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"9490\" data-end=\"9565\">These are not skills for a specific market, but for unpredictable contexts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"9567\" data-end=\"9745\">Education today is what shapes tomorrow\u2019s market.<br data-start=\"9616\" data-end=\"9619\" \/>If we want to be a leading nation, we must not speak of education serving the market \u2014 but of education <em data-start=\"9723\" data-end=\"9733\">creating<\/em> the market.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"9747\" data-end=\"9936\">Major technological industries did not appear because the labor market demanded them; they appeared in universities, labs, and innovation centers\u2026 and <strong data-start=\"9898\" data-end=\"9906\">then<\/strong> created entire labor markets.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"9938\" data-end=\"10152\">The education we provide today will create the scientist, innovator, engineer, entrepreneur, and doctor who uses AI for humanity \u2014 and even the skilled worker who must keep up with rising competition from machines.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"10154\" data-end=\"10414\">Successful global development experiments \u2014 such as Singapore, South Korea, Finland, and Estonia \u2014 did not begin by chasing the market, but by asking: \u201cWhat kind of human being do we want?\u201d<br data-start=\"10343\" data-end=\"10346\" \/>Then curricula, policies, and investments followed from that vision.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"10416\" data-end=\"10660\">South Korea in the 1960s produced tens of thousands of engineers and physicists even though the local market could not absorb them. The state bet on the future and later established Samsung and Hyundai to harness this talent and lead the world.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"10662\" data-end=\"10802\">Today, we graduate youth for an existing market; what is required is to graduate youth capable of creating a market that does not yet exist.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"10804\" data-end=\"10986\">Leaders must understand: the goal of education has changed.<br data-start=\"10863\" data-end=\"10866\" \/>It is no longer about preparing employees for today\u2019s market, but preparing minds capable of shaping tomorrow\u2019s markets.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"10988\" data-end=\"11045\">This philosophy should be the foundation of every reform:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"11047\" data-end=\"11304\">\u2022 We do not train students for jobs; we train them to understand a changing world.<br data-start=\"11129\" data-end=\"11132\" \/>\u2022 We do not produce followers of the market; we produce creators of markets.<br data-start=\"11208\" data-end=\"11211\" \/>\u2022 We do not produce short-term skills; we produce lifelong intellectual and moral capacities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"11306\" data-end=\"11364\">The new equation is <strong data-start=\"11326\" data-end=\"11363\">education for creating the future<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"11366\" data-end=\"11432\">When this vision guides public policy, many decisions will change:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"11434\" data-end=\"11695\">\u2022 Curricula will shift from memorization to creativity.<br data-start=\"11489\" data-end=\"11492\" \/>\u2022 Assessment will shift from exams to achievement.<br data-start=\"11542\" data-end=\"11545\" \/>\u2022 The teacher\u2019s role will shift from instructor to mentor.<br data-start=\"11603\" data-end=\"11606\" \/>\u2022 The definition of success will shift from employment to the ability to generate change.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"11697\" data-end=\"11773\">Only then does education become not a follower of the future\u2026 but its maker.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"11775\" data-end=\"12146\">Knowledge, as I mentioned, is a moving target \u2014 it decays over time.<br data-start=\"11843\" data-end=\"11846\" \/>Therefore, continuous acquisition of new knowledge is essential for sustained development and progress.<br data-start=\"11949\" data-end=\"11952\" \/>This is why lifelong learning is crucial: spreading a culture of ongoing learning, extending the validity of certificates, and allowing freedom of movement in and out of the educational process.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"12148\" data-end=\"12460\">The faster the world changes, the more education becomes the only foundation capable of maintaining balance between humanity and the future.<br data-start=\"12288\" data-end=\"12291\" \/>Nations that tie their education to today\u2019s market will remain at the tail end, whereas nations that tie it to knowledge and the skills of tomorrow\u2026 will lead the world.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"12462\" data-end=\"12735\">World leaders must realize: the seed of renaissance requires a deep philosophical soil to bear fruit \u2014 a nation, not just a workforce.<br data-start=\"12596\" data-end=\"12599\" \/>Do not let short-term calculations and rigid bureaucracy turn your good intentions into mere formalities or short-lived flashy projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is a familiar phrase repeated in every development plan: \u201cWe must link education to the labor market.\u201dA comforting phrase, but one that \u2014 despite good intentions \u2014 hides a fundamental philosophical mistake:Which labor market do we mean? He was against extending the state of emergency and objected to the National Democratic Party's unilateral constitutional amendments during the January 25, 2011 revolution. He played a very important political role when he defended, from the very first beginning of the revolution, the demonstrators' right to call for their demands. He called on the government to listen and respond to their demands. Consequently and due to Dr. Badrawi's popularity, Mubarak appointed him as the NDP Secretary General thus replacing the members of the Bureau of the Commission. During that time, Dr. Badrawi expressed his political opinion to Mubarak that he had to step down. He had to resign from the party after 5 days of his appointment on February 10 when he declared his political disagreement with the political leadership in dealing with the demonstrators who called for handing the power to the Muslim Brotherhood. Therefore, from the very first moment his stance was clear by rejecting a religion-based state which he considered as aiming to limit the Egyptians down to one trend. He considered deposed president Mohamed Morsi's decision to bring back the People's Assembly as a reinforcement of the US-supported dictatorship. He was among the first to denounce the incursion of Morsi's authority over the judicial authority, condemning the Brotherhood militias' blockade of the Supreme Constitutional Court. He was against extending the state of emergency and objected to the National Democratic Party's unilateral constitutional amendments during the January 25, 2011 revolution. He played a very important political role when he defended, from the very first beginning of the revolution, the demonstrators' right to call for their demands. He called on the government to listen and respond to their demands. Consequently and due to Dr. Badrawi's popularity, Mubarak appointed him as the NDP Secretary General thus replacing the members of the Bureau of the Commission. During that time, Dr. Badrawi expressed his political opinion to Mubarak that he had to step down. He had to resign from the party after 5 days of his appointment on February 10 when he declared his political disagreement with the political leadership in dealing with the demonstrators who called for handing the power to the Muslim Brotherhood. Therefore, from the very first moment his stance was clear by rejecting a religion-based state which he considered as aiming to limit the Egyptians down to one trend. He considered deposed president Mohamed Morsi's decision to bring back the People's Assembly as a reinforcement of the US-supported dictatorship. He was among the first to denounce the incursion of Morsi's authority over the judicial authority, condemning the Brotherhood militias' blockade of the Supreme Constitutional Court.
