Yet history teaches us a different lesson: many claims once dismissed as \u201cconspiracy theories\u201d later proved to be carefully executed plans, especially in the political sphere. The purpose of promoting the idea of a \u201ctheory\u201d is not always the pursuit of truth, but often to avert attention from realities happening right before our eyes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"715\" data-end=\"1102\">The term itself is not neutral. In the 1960s and 1970s, the U.S. CIA used it to discredit critics of the official narrative surrounding President John F. Kennedy\u2019s assassination. Today, it is employed to silence any questioning of major political events. This promotion serves a clear goal: turning legitimate doubts into \u201cmadness,\u201d thereby shielding secret plans from public scrutiny.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1104\" data-end=\"1191\">History is full of examples where \u201ctheories\u201d turned out to be actual political plans.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1193\" data-end=\"2671\">\n<li data-start=\"1193\" data-end=\"1599\">\n<p data-start=\"1195\" data-end=\"1599\"><strong data-start=\"1195\" data-end=\"1244\">Human experimentation in the 1950s and 1960s:<\/strong> Claims of secret experiments on humans using drugs like LSD for mind control were dismissed as \u201ccrazy conspiracy theories.\u201d In the 1970s, Congressional investigations (Church Committee) revealed official documents proving unethical experiments on American citizens without their knowledge, aimed at developing interrogation and mind-control techniques.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1601\" data-end=\"1883\">\n<p data-start=\"1603\" data-end=\"1883\"><strong data-start=\"1603\" data-end=\"1625\">Watergate scandal:<\/strong> In the 1970s, allegations that Nixon\u2019s administration spied on the Democratic Party were dismissed as \u201cpartisan conspiracies.\u201d Later, it was revealed to be a deliberate plan that led to President Nixon\u2019s resignation and the conviction of senior officials.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1885\" data-end=\"2117\">\n<p data-start=\"1887\" data-end=\"2117\"><strong data-start=\"1887\" data-end=\"1920\">Operation Northwoods (1960s):<\/strong> U.S. military leaders proposed fake terrorist attacks on Americans to blame Cuba and justify an invasion. Kennedy rejected it, but declassified documents in the 1990s confirmed the plan existed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2119\" data-end=\"2370\">\n<p data-start=\"2121\" data-end=\"2370\"><strong data-start=\"2121\" data-end=\"2160\">Civil Rights movement surveillance:<\/strong> Claims of monitoring and sabotaging figures like Martin Luther King Jr. were considered \u201cparanoia.\u201d Leaked documents in the 1970s revealed the FBI executed covert operations to discredit political activists.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2372\" data-end=\"2671\">\n<p data-start=\"2374\" data-end=\"2671\"><strong data-start=\"2374\" data-end=\"2402\">Tuskegee Syphilis Study:<\/strong> From the 1930s to the 1970s, the U.S. government denied treatment to hundreds of African American men with syphilis to study the disease, despite available cures. These claims were dismissed as \u201ctheories\u201d until President Clinton issued a formal apology in the 1990s.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2673\" data-end=\"2840\">These examples are not exceptions; they reveal a pattern: authorities deny, documents are later revealed, and the events become \u201chistory\u201d rather than a \u201cconspiracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2842\" data-end=\"3027\">This is not limited to the U.S.; in many parts of the world, secret interventions by Western powers were once dismissed as \u201cconspiracy theories\u201d but later confirmed as executed plans:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3029\" data-end=\"4677\">\n<li data-start=\"3029\" data-end=\"3535\">\n<p data-start=\"3031\" data-end=\"3535\"><strong data-start=\"3031\" data-end=\"3062\">Operation Gladio in Europe:<\/strong> In the 1990s, parliamentary investigations in Italy, Belgium, and Switzerland revealed a secret network, supported by British and U.S. intelligence and NATO, to establish \u201cstay-behind\u201d armies in case of a Soviet invasion. Declassified documents showed it also involved supporting far-right groups to carry out \u201cstrategic tension\u201d operations, like terrorist bombings blamed on the left to justify political repression. The invasion led to regional chaos, and U.S. officials later admitted errors. The events of September 11 and related claims remain heavily debated.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4359\" data-end=\"4677\">\n<p data-start=\"4361\" data-end=\"4677\"><strong data-start=\"4361\" data-end=\"4377\">Arab Spring:<\/strong> Allegations of Western intervention in supporting some protests were dismissed as \u201cconspiracies.\u201d Yet documents and journalistic reports revealed American organizations trained activists in new media and provided financial support to opposition groups in Egypt and Libya, aiming to topple regimes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"4679\" data-end=\"4856\">I personally witnessed events in Egypt where what we had assumed were conspiracies turned out to be deliberate plans executed in the interest of British and U.S. intelligence.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4858\" data-end=\"5224\">In the 19th and 20th centuries, Britain played a decisive role in shaping the Gulf\u2019s map through treaties that granted it control over the UAE\u2019s foreign policy in exchange for maritime protection. These declassified official documents show that the treaties divided the region into nominally independent states tied to British economic interests, particularly oil.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5226\" data-end=\"5558\">Britain also mediated the division of the Omani Empire after Sultan Said bin Sultan\u2019s death in 1856, separating Zanzibar from Muscat, weakening the Sultanate, and opening the door to greater influence. These claims were once dismissed as \u201ccolonial conspiracies,\u201d but the documents prove carefully planned geopolitical maneuvering.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5560\" data-end=\"5663\">In Latin America, the U.S. conducted numerous secret interventions to counter the \u201ccommunist threat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5665\" data-end=\"5930\">Today, major political events are officially interpreted in a single way, while raising legitimate questions can lead some to label them a \u201cconspiracy theory.\u201d This label ignores the possibility of careful planning, especially in geopolitical or economic affairs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5932\" data-end=\"6307\">Not every doubt is a conspiracy, and not every conspiracy is real. But dismissing every question as a \u201cconspiracy theory\u201d serves authority and intelligence agencies more than it serves the truth. History teaches us that secret plans exist and are sometimes successfully executed. He was against extending the state of emergency and objected to the National Democratic Party's unilateral constitutional amendments during the January 25, 2011 revolution. He played a very important political role when he defended, from the very first beginning of the revolution, the demonstrators' right to call for their demands. He called on the government to listen and respond to their demands. Consequently and due to Dr. Badrawi's popularity, Mubarak appointed him as the NDP Secretary General thus replacing the members of the Bureau of the Commission. During that time, Dr. Badrawi expressed his political opinion to Mubarak that he had to step down. He had to resign from the party after 5 days of his appointment on February 10 when he declared his political disagreement with the political leadership in dealing with the demonstrators who called for handing the power to the Muslim Brotherhood. Therefore, from the very first moment his stance was clear by rejecting a religion-based state which he considered as aiming to limit the Egyptians down to one trend. He considered deposed president Mohamed Morsi's decision to bring back the People's Assembly as a reinforcement of the US-supported dictatorship. He was among the first to denounce the incursion of Morsi's authority over the judicial authority, condemning the Brotherhood militias' blockade of the Supreme Constitutional Court. During the era of former president Hosni Mubarak he was called The Rationalist in the National Democratic Party NDP because his political calls and demands were consistent to a great extent with calls for political and democratic reform in Egypt. He was against extending the state of emergency and objected to the National Democratic Party's unilateral constitutional amendments during the January 25, 2011 revolution. He played a very important political role when he defended, from the very first beginning of the revolution, the demonstrators' right to call for their demands. He called on the government to listen and respond to their demands. Consequently and due to Dr. Badrawi's popularity, Mubarak appointed him as the NDP Secretary General thus replacing the members of the Bureau of the Commission. During that time, Dr. Badrawi expressed his political opinion to Mubarak that he had to step down. He had to resign from the party after 5 days of his appointment on February 10 when he declared his political disagreement with the political leadership in dealing with the demonstrators who called for handing the power to the Muslim Brotherhood. Therefore, from the very first moment his stance was clear by rejecting a religion-based state which he considered as aiming to limit the Egyptians down to one trend. He considered deposed president Mohamed Morsi's decision to bring back the People's Assembly as a reinforcement of the US-supported dictatorship. He was among the first to denounce the incursion of Morsi's authority over the judicial authority, condemning the Brotherhood militias' blockade of the Supreme Constitutional Court.
