I admit it\u2026
I can\u2019t keep up.<\/p>\n
Not just because time is tight,
nor because life has become crowded with responsibilities,
but because the world\u2026 has started pouring into me without pause.<\/p>\n
Every minute\u2014every second\u2014
dozens of things reach me:
news\u2026 analyses\u2026 videos\u2026 opinions\u2026 notifications\u2026 shocks\u2026 fears\u2026 and advice.<\/p>\n
An entire world is thrown into my mind\u2026
without me asking for it.<\/p>\n
I open my phone to read a message\u2026
and minutes\u2014or hours\u2014later,
I find myself jumping between dozens of topics:<\/p>\n
A war here\u2026
a crisis there\u2026
a sharp political opinion\u2026
a complex economic analysis\u2026
a touching human story\u2026
and a medical tip that might save a life.<\/p>\n
Some of it is useful\u2026 yes.
But most of it\u2026 is not.<\/p>\n
And yet\u2026 I read.<\/p>\n
The question that haunts me:<\/p>\n
How much time do we waste\u2026 just deciding what is worth reading?<\/p>\n
And how much of that \u201cchoice\u201d
is not really a choice\u2026
but a response to what was imposed on us?<\/p>\n
We don\u2019t just consume information\u2026
we are reshaped by it.<\/p>\n
Even the ideas we reject\u2026
pass through our minds,
leave a subtle trace,
then disappear.<\/p>\n
But\u2026 do they really disappear?<\/p>\n
Can an irrational idea,
one we glanced at briefly,
change something within us?<\/p>\n
Can repeated messages\u2014even superficial ones\u2014
build a new pattern of thinking,
slipping into the self\u2026 without us noticing?<\/p>\n
I think\u2026 yes.<\/p>\n
Not because we are weak,
but because our minds were not built for this relentless flood.<\/p>\n
The human mind was designed to contemplate,
not to be bombarded.<\/p>\n
To choose,
not to be overwhelmed.<\/p>\n
And here, a more dangerous question emerges:<\/p>\n
Is there a hidden mind\u2026 shaping humanity\u2019s consciousness?<\/p>\n
Not necessarily a single person,
nor a conspiracy in the traditional sense\u2026<\/p>\n
But a system:
algorithms\u2026 platforms\u2026 interests\u2026
pushing what we should see,
and hiding what we shouldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n
We think we choose\u2026
while we are gently guided.<\/p>\n
The problem is not information itself\u2026
but the overflow of it.<\/p>\n
A drop refreshes,
but a flood\u2026 drowns.<\/p>\n
So how do we deal with this?<\/p>\n
Not by withdrawing from the world,
nor by shutting everything out.<\/p>\n
But by reclaiming our right to choose.<\/p>\n
To ask, before we read:
Why am I reading this?<\/p>\n
To slow down\u2026
in a world that forces speed upon us.<\/p>\n
To accept that we won\u2019t know everything\u2026
and that we shouldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n
Knowledge is not in quantity,
but in depth.<\/p>\n
Not in what passes through our minds,
but in what stays within them.<\/p>\n
Maybe the solution is not to \u201ckeep up\u201d\u2026
but to decide:<\/p>\n
What is worth keeping up with\u2026
and what should simply be allowed to pass.<\/p>\n
I still\u2026 can\u2019t keep up.
But I\u2019m starting to learn\u2026
that this isn\u2019t a flaw.<\/p>\n
Maybe\u2026
