At the invitation of the Mediterranean Youth Foundation for Development and in cooperation with the Nile Badrawi Foundation, Prof. Hossam Badrawi participated in the first session of the community dialogue on a dialogue project on the “Document on Human Fraternity”
\nDr. Badrawi participated in an online session of a community dialogue on the “Document on Human Fraternity”
\nIt is a project implemented by the Mediterranean Youth Foundation with the King Abdullah International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue \u201cKAICED\u201d, with the participation of a large group of academics, opinion and thought leaders in Egypt
\nThe session dealt with a number of topics, including:
\nGeneral discussion on the Document on Human Fraternity and its most important principles and objectives
\n– How can we build on the document in order to consolidate the values \u200b\u200bof citizenship, pluralism and acceptance of the other?
\nThe educational system and the consolidation of the principles of human brotherhood, citizenship, and acceptance of the other among new generations
\nReligious discourse and principles of human brotherhood
\nThe global system, confronting the culture of hatred, and consolidating the values \u200b\u200bof coexistence and pluralism
\nFor the principles of the document
\nCivil society organizations and their role in promoting the principles of human brotherhood
\nTowards the establishment of legislation that combats the culture of hatred and promotes the principles of human brotherhood
\nDuring his speech, Dr. Badrawi stressed the importance and value of human coexistence and the importance of difference in the progress of society and building its civilization

He called on the government to listen and respond to their demands. Consequently and due to Dr. Badrawi's popularity, Mubarak appointed him as the NDP Secretary General thus replacing the members of the Bureau of the Commission. During that time, Dr. Badrawi expressed his political opinion to Mubarak that he had to step down. He had to resign from the party after 5 days of his appointment on February 10 when he declared his political disagreement with the political leadership in dealing with the demonstrators who called for handing the power to the Muslim Brotherhood. Therefore, from the very first moment his stance was clear by rejecting a religion-based state which he considered as aiming to limit the Egyptians down to one trend. He considered deposed president Mohamed Morsi's decision to bring back the People's Assembly as a reinforcement of the US-supported dictatorship. He was among the first to denounce the incursion of Morsi's authority over the judicial authority, condemning the Brotherhood militias' blockade of the Supreme Constitutional Court.
