foreign policy chat

The young educated reader said: What is happening in Libya, doctor, and what is its impact on Egypt?

His colleague rose up and said: We do not understand anything, all the news says that Haftar’s forces, who are supported by Egypt and the UAE, are withdrawing and being defeated, and that the forces of the Government of National Accord, supported by Turkey and Qatar, are advancing and seizing western Libya.

A third said: I mean, we understand that America and Russia support Egypt in its stance in Libya, yet Erdogan is victorious with the support of my Tunisian brothers. All of it is news that indicates that there is something being cooked in the kitchen of intelligence and interests, and that there is a deception somewhere, so what do you think, Doctor?

I said: Let’s move away from the scene a little to see it integrated.. the forces that plan to run the Arab world and control its will are from my point of view Iran, Turkey and Israel.

Controlling the will has two entrances: weakening and dismantling the interior, and controlling geography, economic capabilities, and Arab markets.

And what we see in the past ten years and the preceding preparation has succeeded in that. The power of Iraq ended with a British-American invasion, and Iran interfered in Iraq both socially and geographically. A civil war in Syria, an ISIS outbreak of criminality, an international intervention dismantling all the nuts of the state, a Turkish invasion and secession movements, and unfortunately it all started with narrow-minded and short-sighted Arab money.

Bab al-Mandeb and the entrance to the Red Sea are under Iranian control, an endless civil war in Yemen, Israeli military bases extending in Africa and besieging Egypt from afar, and attempts to negatively influence Egypt’s relations with the mouth of the Nile River.

Egypt escaped the nightmare of partition, but it is still under the threat of terrorism and the nightmare of the difficult economic situation.

Each of these three countries has a project that attempts to create and exploit religious, sectarian and racist gaps in the region.. Unfortunately, it was preceded by a Wahhabi extension from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which paved the way for changing the psychological structure of Egyptian society and the decline of the enlightenment that Egypt led through the years of the twentieth century until the orchestrated defeat in 67.

They may differ in goals and means, but they agree on one thing, which is the destruction of the Arab nation and the suffocation of its source of power, which is Egypt. This is not conspiratorial thinking. Rather, it has become clear and evident… A strong Egypt is an explicit threat to their strategic interests.

What is happening in Libya, guys, is an implementation of Turkey’s project to obtain energy sources in the Mediterranean and Libya’s oil wealth… and at the same time, the siege of Egypt from the West.

There is no objection to using the Brotherhood here and ISIS there, and an appeal to the Islamic caliphate, as if we are recalling the worst days of Ottoman history to relive it.

The first young man said: Why does President Trump allow Turkey to take over in this way, and Egypt and President Sisi are his allies?!

I smiled and said: There is a proverb that applies to America by virtue of its history, which says, “The one covered with America is naked.”

Turkey comes after Israel in the American strategic priorities in the Middle East, not Egypt, and even if Mr. Erdogan sometimes represents a burden on American interests, he is still an ally with many faces and benefits, and the time will come to get rid of him sooner or later. No ally of America remained without betraying him as needed, and may God have mercy on the Shah of Iran, their greatest ally.

Moreover, the strategic relationship between Turkey and Israel is very important to America, especially in the field of military industries, intelligence cooperation between the two countries, and information exchange on Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, the Kurds, the Brotherhood, ISIS and Hamas.

Turkey controls the Bosphorus Strait, which connects the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara, and the Dardanelles Strait, which connects the southern border between Asia and Europe.

I know for certain that at the end of the George W. Bush era and throughout Barack Obama’s presidency, Recep Tayyip Erdogan was “a very reliable source for giving advice to the White House on Washington’s policies in the region.”

He is the author of the theory that Washington should adopt the Muslim Brotherhood under a claim that he strongly promoted, which is based on the fact that if “Al-Qaeda” is the violent Islam that struck New York and Washington on September 11, 2001, then the “Brotherhood” is “moderate Islam,” which is what the US administration stupidly bought. !

This was confirmed to me by the President of the British House of Lords, in my meeting with her, after the events of 2011 in Egypt and the emergence of the Brotherhood as a force supported by Britain and America.

This may explain the panic that afflicted Erdogan after the failure of the Brotherhood’s rule and the fall of Mr. Morsi, and the opening of Turkey’s gates to fugitives from the Brotherhood after the June 30, 2013 revolution.

The young woman said: Who manages Egypt’s foreign relations?

I said: The President of the Republic is always the maker of the state’s foreign policy, but he is not alone. The other organs of the state are his arms, hands and fingers, and sometimes his mind partners. Sometimes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a greater role in specific issues, and sometimes the intelligence services. The issue is intertwined, and there must be a council that brings them together to consult and formulate policies. A country like Egypt is not run by the thought of one person. Rather, there must be institutions that participate in setting the country’s foreign policies in order to ensure its sustainability.

The educated young man said: Does Egypt have a declared foreign policy, or do we derive it from the context of events and reactions?

I said: The Egyptian Foreign Ministry is one of the most prestigious institutions of the Egyptian state, and it enjoys my respect and the respect of the world. It cannot go randomly. Of course, Egypt has foreign policies and orientations.

In my opinion, it is necessary to find a more effective role for Egypt in Africa and the Middle East. and the world. Modern or ancient history did not tell us about a renaissance of Egypt, which is closed in on itself, or closed its doors and windows to the world, or that Egypt is just reactions.

Egypt’s pioneering and enlightening role I still see as vital, but rather one of the pillars of its renaissance..a role that comes not from the philosophy of mediation or waiting, but from the philosophy of positive participation in making the future. Whoever does not participate in making the future will be a repository of his waste.

But we have to be aware that an Egypt that is strong internally is an Egypt that is strong externally.. History teaches us that Egypt exported enlightenment and culture in the nineteenth century until the middle of the twentieth century..Egypt exported the revolution to all

Africa and the Arab world after its revolution. Egypt, by adopting socialism, has transferred its experience to the surrounding countries.. However, the future Egypt must export – from my point of view – culture, enlightenment and respect for human rights.. Egypt is within the framework of its leading role.. If it takes this political reform from within, I see countries The region is going to where Egypt goes…with all its impact and influence.

And because I believe in competition, we must have a competitive strategy with the countries I mentioned and mentioned their objectives, which with their economic and political weight and ambitions shape the future of the region… I mean again Iran, Turkey and Israel.

The Egyptian leadership should study the situation of these countries and blocs impartially, for the external influence of these countries was preceded in Iran by tremendous scientific growth and self-reliance despite the international economic boycott. My knowledge and research make it the most influential force in the region now.

Our ability to resist the strategies of these countries around us requires us first to surpass them civilly, economically and humanly.

Let us not forget all this hadith that a strong Egypt is a free Egypt and that the country’s strength is from the strength of its sons, not in numbers or equipment, but in science, knowledge, culture and respect for the rights of its citizens with complete justice and respect for the civil state and the plurality of its forces.
