And the Giving Continues
On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the inauguration ceremony of the Mohamed Karim Tri-Clinic was held at Mohamed Karim School in Matariya, Cairo.
After the Mohamed Karim Nursery—developed by the Takatof Association for Development—became a living example of what civil society and, in particular, Takatof embody in terms of humanity and generosity, teaching our children how to sense and appreciate beauty, the Association once again proved that its mission extends far beyond school buildings.
Takatof’s vision encompasses training, capacity-building, health coverage, and continuous project follow-up over time to ensure that the systems they establish remain sustainable. Today, the Association crowns its ongoing efforts by renovating and upgrading the Mohamed Karim School Clinic, enhancing the school’s ability to care for its children—with the support and funding of the Australian Embassy, whose contribution reflects a genuine partnership between civil society and international friends in serving Egypt.
The clinic now serves 38 schools with approximately 40,000 children, and has been equipped with fully functional units for dentistry, internal medicine, a laboratory, and a speech therapy department.
According to Dr. Hossam Badrawi, Takatof plans to establish two additional clinics in the area to expand the reach of its services.
At the invitation of Dr. Hossam Badrawi, Chairman of Takatof, and Ms. Mireille Nassim, the Association’s Executive Director, the inauguration was attended by:
• H.E. Mr. Axel Wabenhorst, Ambassador of Australia to Egypt
• Eng. Mona El-Batraoui, Deputy Governor of Cairo for the Northern Zone, representing the Governor
• Dr. Khaled Mowafy, Assistant Chairman of the Health Insurance Authority for Political Affairs
• Dr. Mohamed Raslan, Director of the Cairo Branch of the Health Insurance Authority
The Mohamed Karim Tri-Clinic in Matariya, developed and equipped by Takatof with the support of the Australian Aid Program, was officially opened during the event.
During the ceremony, Dr. Badrawi expressed his deep appreciation for the outstanding work of Ms. Nassim and her team, emphasizing that the Association’s mission goes beyond construction—it is about improving the educational environment and the psychological well-being of the child. He noted that Takatof aims to achieve tangible, sustainable impact in every community it serves and reaffirmed his personal commitment that anything that could enhance the school will be provided with joy and dedication.
The attendees extended heartfelt thanks to Australia for its respectful partnership, to Cairo Governorate and the Health Insurance Authority, and to Dr. Hossam Badrawi and the Takatof team for their tireless giving—born of genuine human compassion and social responsibility, all in the service of Egypt’s beloved children and youth.
It is worth noting that Takatof Association for Development works to improve quality of life and empower marginalized communities through projects and programs that promote sustainable development
